Nickel 200/201 ASTM B564 Forged Socketweld Fittings has high mechanical qualities as well as excellent corrosion resistance in a variety of hostile situations. The lower carbon chemistry, nickel 201, is preferable for service at temperatures exceeding 600°F. The corrosion resistance of nickel 200 and 201 ASTM B564 Forged Socketweld Fittings against caustic soda and other alkalis are exceptional. They have been employed in aerospace, chemical and petrochemical processing, food processing, marine and water treatment, and other industries.
The sole difference between them is the maximum carbon content, which is 0.15 percent for Nickel 200 and 0.02 percent for Nickel 201. Nickel 200 is often limited to service temperatures below 600 Degree F because of crystallization, which can significantly degrade characteristics at higher temperatures. Nickel 201 should be used at higher temperatures. Nickel 200 Forged Socketweld Fittings is allowed for service temperatures up to 600 Degree F, whereas Nickel 201 ASTM B564 Forged Socketweld Fittings is approved for temperatures up to 1250 Degree F. Both grades are extremely resistant to caustic soda and other alkalis.
Once the fabrications are done these fittings are sent for testing to qualify their material testing and structural efficiency.
